Minutes, meeting of Wednesday 14th March at 11.30am in the staff room, Dounby School
Present; Mr Lawrence Bews, Alasdair Flett, Helen Flett, Charys Harvey, Laura Wilson, Kerry Stanger,
Aidan Morrison, Kelsey Harvey
Apologies; Mrs Anita Slater, Mrs Anita Griggs and Mrs Lorna Penny couldn't make it to the meeting today.
Matters arising; There were no matters arising today.
Open Day; The Open day will be on the 28th March 2007, for this there will be a poster competition.
We are putting letters out to each class for further information on this. We have phoned SNH,
Aileen (RSPB), Bruce (Keep Orkney Warm), Michael Swanney (Active Schools), Joyce Russell (Fly
Tipping, Orkney Islands Council) and they will be able to attend the open day. We have yet to hear if
Lynn Henderson and Jim Chalmers can come.
Timetable; We cannot make the timetable until we hear from Lynn Henderson and Jim Chalmers.
Information to school; We will be putting a letter home with pupils to their parents about the open day,
posters around the school and saying about it in assembly.
Planning of Hall; Is being decided.
Publicity; Posters put in school grounds e.g in shop windows, Radio Orkney, posters in the care home,
Orkney Today and the Orcadian.
